August Currently & B2S Giveaway

It's that time for Farley's Currently again. I know I feel like I say this every month but July really did fly by!

* My Nana watched Rookie Blue while she was visiting & now I'm finding myself watch it.

* That's right- I have the 1st two (almost 3) weeks of lesson plans written. It's killing me that I haven't been able to get into the school yet so I have been doing everything that I can to get as prepared as possible from home. Plus I will be taking an online Canadian Studies class this year, as well as substitute teaching on the Tuesdays & Thursdays I'm not teaching kindergarten ANDDD am going to try to keep my job at Boston Pizza by working weekends. WHEW! This is going to be one super busy Fall.
I may not be able to get in the school yet but that doesn't stop me from laminating... Thanks to Scholar's Choice I got all this laminated for only $18. Hey, that beats the $50 I spent @ Staples to get one poster and 5 small cards laminated. Talk about ridiculous. I am so glad Scholar's Choice has a reasonable price for laminating. Anyone want to help cut things out for me?!

I bought me these R-E-A-D letters @ Walmart and just finished painting them. Now I just need to add ribbon so that I can hang them up in the classroom. I bought so many goodies for the classroom that I can't wait to show y'all the photos once it's all up.

  1. I'm a little jealous that you still have a month of summer left. I officially go back to work in 5 days (although technically I'm already back to get that room straightened up!). Wishing you a fabulous fall!

    1. Well if it makes you feel better- school doesn't end until the last week of June so in June I can say I'm jealous that you're already out of school. LOL! I hope you have a great first week of school!

  2. I've been wanting another dog too but I'm scared about my dog getting jealous. I'm also jealous that you don't have to start back until September. I report back on the 15th and the kids start on the 26th. love the blog!

    1. Well I know our bigger dog would love a playmate b/c our small dog is too prissy & won't play with him. Ha ha ha...But not sure if 3 dogs are too many. I know it's crazy but I'm ready for school to start sooner but I think that's #1 b/c the school I used to teach at started the 1st week of Aug & #2 I couldn't teach last year due to moving to Canada. I hope you have a fabulous first week of school!!!

  3. I have a second job on the weekends, too. It is doable but hard at times. Don't forget to take some time just for yourself every once in awhile!

    1. Thanks Lola! Yeah, I know I can handle a weekend job since I did it the last 3 years I taught in the States it's just taking an online class as well makes me nervous. But I will think of you working weekends too as encouragement. If only teachers could all have raises so we wouldn't need to work weekends... LOL- Heck, I'd even take winning the lotto :)

  4. Want to come write my lesson plans?? I really need to get my butt in gear on that. My hope was to get the first couple of weeks ready ahead of time. My only problem is I have no idea how many students I will have and I probably won't know my official schedule until the day before school starts. I can't create my "actual" lesson plans until I know that information.

Thanks for letting me part of your amazing giveaway!!!! You rock girl!

    1. Yeah I feel ya girl... It's hard to plan when you don't know. I don't really know either- I am just guess-stimating. LOL! I got my list of kids in June and so far my list only has 16 kids!!! BUT... as you know that always changes so I'm planning for 20-25 just in case. And as for my schedule I have no clue of mine, I just made mine up based on my last school schedule so I will have a lot of adjusting to do. I just know of how many minutes I want to spend in each subject/area. My BIG problem is fitting what I taught in a 5 day kinder program and trying to fit it in a rotation of 2day/3day kinder program. Craziness! Good luck with getting it all together. I know you will in time :)
