July Pick 3 Pinterest Party

Other than holidays I find that I turn to Pinterest for ideas & inspiration the most during the summer. The first things that pop into my head when I think of summer is bbq, parties & fun. I am sharing my top 3 Pinterests pins for July with y'all.

Who doesn't love food from the grill during the summer? These Balsamic Glazed Steak Rolls are super yummy. I made these a few weeks ago from this recipe and we really enjoyed them. 

I love any reason to decorate or have mini parties for play dates or get together with other moms. This year I happened to be on maternity leave with three other lovely ladies who teach at my school. We all had our babies within a few months of each other. Since we get a year maternity leave here we made sure that we got together once every other week to chat and let our babes play. Any time there was a holiday or some excuse to decorate I would host our get together. Celebrating summer seems as good as any reason to decorate and have fun don't ya think? These snow cone garlands are so stinking cute! I am going to have to make some of these.

Summer is all about fun! Of course traveling and going on vacations are fun, but for those times when you are not traveling, at home with your kids and looking for something to do in the heat here is a craft that may be for you. This ice cube watercolor paint is a craft that I am trying tomorrow with my little one. The ice cubes are in the freezer getting ready. :)

Beating the Summer Heat

Well I never thought I'd think it was hot in Canada but it sure has been really warm these past few days. I would not survive in the South as a pregger. Lol... I see that many of you had a blast in Vegas this past week & I am jealous! I really wanted to go but was too scared to fly & be so far away with only 7 weeks to go until this little babe is suppose to make her appearance. Give or take a few days of course. While many of you got to party it up in Vegas this is what I've been up to.... 

Oh just getting bigger over here... Ha... Beep beep! Wide load coming through.

Most of us in the school had to pack up our classrooms & move to different rooms the last few days so I got this room. It's a tad bit smaller & needs a good bit of work. I had those yucky old green chalkboards & painted them with black chalkboard paint. 

 See... Look at all that work that needs to be done. Since the school doesn't have a/c you will not find my bum in the classroom until August. This room needs a lot of tlc.

I traded in my little Corolla & got me a mom vehicle. I love it!

And these past few days I've been getting the nursery ready for our little princess. Here's a glimpse of work in progress.

My summer so far has been filled with eating lots of chocolate ice cream with bananas & soaking in the sun with the hubs!

Summer Time Ramblings



I was super excited to see my Momma & Nana when they got off the plane but I was pumped when my mom pulled this out of her suitcase for me! I was not as excited as I was to see them but it was pretty close. LOL. I have myself my first Erin Condren teacher planner.

Look at all these label stickers that came with my planner :) Yippee!

Also included was a $10 gift card.

On a non-teacher note: I went to Jasper National Park yesterday with my Mom & Nana for the day. I have been to Banff before but not Jasper. It was beautiful!

 

We rode a tram to the top of a mountain where we could see city of Jasper and the beautiful landscape. My nana was a bit scared going up in the tram. It was pretty cute.

MIA a little this week

Hi there folks! It's Brittany here (obviously). LOL. I just wanted to give y'all a heads up that I may not be able to blog as much this week since my Momma and Nana came in to town Saturday night. I may be just a little MIA.

This is their first trip to Canada & I am SO- happy they are here. I have missed them so much!!! Yesterday we had a BBQ at our house with Steven's family, just the immediate family. It was fun and I am still stuffed from the burgers, ribs, potatoes and baked beans.

Is it raining where you're at? Watching GMA this morning it showed that rain is in the forecast for almost the whole country (U.S). It's raining here in Alberta, Canada but I'm hoping it doesn't last all week.

PS. I almost forgot to show you a pic from the Bruno Mars concert. Where is my head lately?! Oh yeah, it's still summer break so I don't need it yet. Bruno Mars was GREAT!!! I loved it and shook my bum the whole time :) He was wonderful & we had lots of fun.
