I'm on a roll y'all!!! Do any of you out there have husbands that like video games, or shall I say the new Call of the Duty video game that came out last night at midnight? Yeah I can't believe I even know when it came out but I do. You can obviously tell my husband is one of those who likes to play video games every now & then. I'm not knocking it, I just prefer good ole' Mario from back in the day. Plus that's the only one I know how to play & I'm not very good at it... But any whooo- him playing his new Call of Duty game tonight means "computer time" for me & boy oh boy did I get alot done! I gave my blog a much needed and wonderful make-over!!! Yay me! I also learned how to make a button for my blog...Well kind of. I load it on my blog & for some reason it'll only show up on it for a bit. WEIRD... Can you tell I'm not very computer savy since this literally took me ALL DAY long... I usually volunteer on Tuesdays but students are out for Rememberance Day. Along with my blog re-vamp I made 5 Christmas Sight Word Readers. Teachers Pay Teachers is also something new I am trying to improve at. I love the site but am dipping my toes in the seller part, and very slowly at that.
Check out my 5 Christmas Sight Word Readers
I love the new look of your blog! Love the blue and black contrast. Your sight word reader is too cute!

Thanks so much Vicky. Looks like we both like blue, black and pink. Your blog looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteBrittany, I just found your blog. I love your "I can" list. I've been making sight word guided reading books for about 20 years now, and I really like the fill-in-the-blank idea that you have. I was wondering what grade you teach. I teach kindergarten. I have some Thanksgiving freebies in my last post if you'd like to come over and take a look.

Thanks so much! I will have to check out your sight word guided reading book then. I have sight word readers for every letter when I used to focus on a letter of the week, but I found that it didn't use the sight words in the order that I wanted to. I taught kindergarten in Mississippi, but as of this year I am volunteering since my husband is Canadian and I'm back & forth between MS. & Canada until my paper work goes through to move to Canada. This way if I get my paper work to move to Canada in the mid school year I won't be forced to quit & leave my students and school just hanging. It's neat getting to volunteer in both & see the big differences. I will hop over to your blog & check it out. Thanks again for stopping by mine Sharon!
DeleteBrittany, I wasn't sure that you responded until I saw that you followed me, and then I came here and saw your response. I know what you mean about the letter books with the sight words. I made them for years, and realized that the children are more into little stories. My children tell me constantly what they would like, such as dinosaurs, princesses, flowers, Power Rangers, etc., and then I base the books around those interests. I have some free guided reading books on my blog, and I also sell complete sets on TPT. Does your husband live in Canada, or does he live in the US? That's so nice that you're volunteering. Wow. I would love to hear how the schools are different in Canada. I teach in a public school in a city area where most of my students are Latino. I'm very happy that most of my children now are beginning to read and their English is improving daily. If you write back, can you leave a comment on my blog so I'll be sure to see it?
DeleteHi! I just found your blog! It's adorable! I nominated you for the Liebster Award...come on by my blog and check it out!
