All About Me & Letters

This week we learned about the letter Pp and the letter Uu. We also worked on learning and writing our names as well as sorting shapes. I introduce our letter of the day with Deanna Jump's Chit-Chat Message and these Letter Picture Cards. 

At my guided reading table we worked on creating the letters Pp and Uu using play-doh while making the /p/ and short /u/ sound.

The children made a /p/, /p/ penguin hat on Monday for the letter Pp and an /u/, /u/ umbrella hat for the letter Uu on Wednesday. They liked wearing their hats.

 Students decorate their name puzzle, cut it apart and practice reading their name as they put their puzzle back together.

We created our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Name Tree this week. I always love how these turn out.

I started using Math Guiding Kinders this year. We are working on sorting.
